Spotlight...work bee volunteers PDF Print E-mail

Chilly weather and snow flurries were no obstacle for our tireless and dedicated volunteers, who spent four consecutive Sundays in February framing and drying in two new staff homes.  What a blessing to see young children and senior citizens, experienced builders and first-timers working side by side!

More than 40 volunteers willingly gave their time to come and help us, many returning enthusiastically week after week.  “We had a lot of skilled workers and got the bulk of the structures completed,” said contractor Doug Crawford. “It went really well.”
According to Project Coordinator, Neita Rimmer, the work bees saved Advent Home over $40,000 in construction costs!  A special, heartfelt thank you goes out to our enthusiastic helpers!
If you would like to take part in growing our campus, you are welcome to join us either for this project or the upcoming work bees to expand our school, the Barbara Cox Learning Center.
