Throughout 2005, we saw again and again how our faithful supporters joined hands with us to make Advent Home a success! In so many ways, they have inspired us with their loyalty to our ministry. Even though they may never have visited the Advent Home Learning Center or personally known a student in our program, many have been moved to support our efforts to transform the lives of teenage boys.
Every gift, large or small, is important to us: a monthly check for our Worthy Student Fund or constructions costs, an envelope of Campbell’s labels to be traded in for school supplies, a used vehicle for our transportation needs, and so on. The creativity and care of our supporters is amazing!
Material gifts are not the only support we are grateful for. Volunteers also play a vital role at Advent Home.
One gentleman, who prefers to remain unnamed, comes every week to lend a hand with maintenance or construction work. Others help at our bimonthly Family Forum programs by assisting with counseling or working in the kitchen.
University groups arrange spiritual programs, or spend time with our boys in recreation and work. Advent Home’s school also welcomes the aid of tutors.
Some cannot give materially, or are too far away to volunteer on our campus, but their support is vital nonetheless. Caring men and women who regularly pray for Advent Home are some of our truest supporters.
