Are you losing your son?
Page 2

Twelve-year-old Alvin, an only child, comes home to an empty house every day after school.  His parents both work to support the family and are too tired and drained to give their son the attention they know he needs.

Alvin spends all his free time at a nearby shopping center, hanging out with his friends, cruising around the different stores and listening to rap music on his headphones.  His parents are worried that he’s been experimenting with cigarettes, and may even have shoplifted.  They don’t know how to reach their son, who has become almost a stranger to them. Dave is 15 and frustrated with the challenges of school.  His dad is usually too busy to help him with homework, or play basketball together.  When dad comes home he feels so guilty about neglecting his son that he indulges him with gifts, like computer games.
