Page 3 of 3 Question: What staff categories do you need to work with these students?
Answer: Group home parents and childcare workers, live with the students in each home. We also have a group home supervisor, school teachers, a teacher' s aid, administration staff, counselors, and a work coordinator. We try to maintain a one-on-one staff to student ratio.
Question: What methods of education do you use to help these difficult teenagers?
Answer: The students receive personal attention in school, one-on-one counseling, and group discussion. Work and play, fresh air and sunshine, adequate sleep, minimal negative peer pressure, a healthy diet, country living and trust in God. All contribute to the healing process.
Question: How do sponsors help children with special needs?
Answer: Many families need our services, but not all can afford the fees. That is why we need sponsors. A sponsor agrees to send a monthly gift of $20, $50, $100 or more each month to help a student. Their gift is tax deductible and should be made payable to Advent Home Youth Services. The money given is applied directly to the student s account to pay his monthly fees and provide for his everyday needs, education, counseling, meals, transportation, etc.
