Answer: They are high-risk teenage boys who have learning, attitude and behavioral problems such as school dismissal, low self-image, and family problems. Students come to the program from almost everywhere in the continental United States.
Question: Who refers students to Advent Home?
Answer: Students are often referred by their principals, teachers, counselors, physicians, pastors, neighbors, family, parents and friends.
Question: How long does a student stay in the program?
Answer: Length of stay is completely up to the student; however the average stay is about 18 months. Because the program operates seven days a week, year round, a student may enter the program anytime.
Question: What services do you provide for teenage boys and their families?
Answer: We provide residential care, individual and group counseling, remedial and accelerated schooling, work therapy, outdoor education, and character development. Parents visit the students and participate in counseling and training six weekends every year.
