Cory arrived at Advent Home in handcuffs. He was smoking, experimenting with drugs and defying his parents. Cory began cooperating with the program when his much loved grandfather died. Today, Cory is a law student who states, “Advent Home gave me a second chance at life. I’m thankful to my family and God for sending me to AH.” On June 26-28, several young men will be honored by Advent Home Learning Center in Calhoun, TN, during Graduation/Homecoming Weekend. You are invited to this milestone celebration for at-risk teens. Guest speakers include Dr. John S. Nixon, Senior Pastor of Collegedale SDA Church, and Dr. Jerry Arnold, Senior Pastor of Collegedale Community Church.

Dr. Thomas Jackson Discusses Mind-Body Connection; Students Teach NEW START Principles at November Family Forum
“We can destroy our frontal lobe with a knife and fork,” said Dr. Thomas Jackson, during the November Family Forum at Advent Home Learning Center. “But we can also restore it the same way.”
Dr. Jackson spoke on the mind-body connection and how food affects behavior. He presented scientific evidence supporting a vegan diet for teenagers with poor behavior, and commended AH for its beneficial diet and minimum-distraction program. |
