How do we know your son is healing? PDF Print E-mail
It’s been five months since you enrolled Johnny in AH, yet he still seems angry and sullen.
Dr. B and the GH staff assure you that he’s healing—slowly. But how do they know?

Remember, changes come in small increments. Here are some signs to look for:

•    He smiles more
•    He’s interacting with and respecting staff
•    During visits, he hugs and touches you
•    When you talk, he agrees with some of your “old fashioned” values
•    At FF counseling, he’s willing to set goals, to make plans for the future
•    He asks for your feedback about his problems
•    He’s more courteous, helpful
•    He likes being with you
•    He complains less and less
•    He likes to get a phone call

Our Maturation Therapy® behavioral objectives also provide a good barometer of growth. Does your son:
•    do chores without being told?
•    make responsible choices?
•    need minimum supervision?
•    make positive contributions during work?
•    diligently complete school assignments?

Answering yes to these questions shows he’s growing in the right direction. So be patient with your son. God isn’t through with him yet!
