Advent Home Learning Center publishes an informative family newsletter. You’ll find practical, concise articles about parenting, especially how to raise responsible teens in today’s irresponsible world. Dr. Blondel Senior, Director/Founder, writes from 23 years’ experience in helping teenage boys with ADHD, learning, and behavioral problems. The Update doesn’t just present problems; it provides practical, realistic solutions! In addition, there’s always the latest ministry news about the ministry of Advent Home Learning Center.
It is well known that healing comes by helping others. For that reason, Advent Home’s Maturation TherapyŽ (MT) Program includes community service as a key therapeutic activity in helping reverse ADHD. Often upon arrival at Advent Home, students are consumed with their personal “issues,” like anger, denial and blame. A sure sign of growth is when they turn from focusing on themselves to focusing on others. Working in the community helps them in this process.
Dr. Blondel Senior explains why we should give teens a second chance. He also invites parents to visit Advent Home. Read about two of our successful graduates, currently in college.
